not quite my friend.. still grating the fresh parmasan from the bike trip.. i'll do the third coat one freezing day in december probably... or is there a rule against varnishing in the frost? probably..

Well,

there's no law about varnishing in the frost :D

from previous experience (boat varnishing) I'd suggest that you don't varnish when the wood is damp, nor when there's likely to be dew/frost on the varnish before it's hardened.

If you do, it'll either peel off or develop a "bloom" (or both :cry: ).
That's my experience and I'd hate for you to waste your time (another excuse to put it off till spring)
