What type/brand of soundproofing is that?

I'll have a look next time I'm there, it was the left overs from a series 1 Landrover I built.

It looks like "Dodo" brand stuff which I used with success on my previous fairly modern car. There are many brands of course....

It was easy to install but it is quite heavy and that weight mounts up if you are going to use it extensively.

Its actually very lightweight it's foam backed and reflective foil top. You peel of a brown paper layer and it self adhesive.

Next stage completed, inside box sections treated with chassis guard. Under rear seat had convenient openings but the sill boxes had plugs from previous treatment that were too small for the flexible lance. Quick go with a step bit to enlarge, then found some bigger blanking grommets. Job done.

Fitting new Newtons carpet set will be next and hopefully then ready for spring outings

More progress today
Tunnel underlay, both sills, under rear seat and front wheel arch carpet fitted. Making progress, tunnel carpets and main floors next visit.

Looking good. I have been researching sound deadening and I have decided to use a non-adhesive sound deadening underlay for the area under the carpets. I want to make it easy to remove the screwed in floor/gearbox surround in future should this be required.

I've cut holes for maintenance, brake fluid and gearbox fill. Hope to never need to remove tunnel but could just cut a strip away to access screws if needed. Luckily have 4 post lift available so underside access is no issue.
I could not find any branding on the foam insulation as it was remnants from another build.

A bit more progress, carpets in. Now making holes for seat belt fittings and seat bolts. Then refit seating and belts.

Very smart. One of the most irritating jobs I found was putting the gearstick gaiter surround back on. In my car, previous idiots had drilled multiple extra holes in the gearbox tunnel so it was difficult to find the correct, original set of holes. With the wrong holes used, the rubber gaiter was strained by not being central and rapidly split. The way I did it was to use numerous small screwdrivers as guides, each screwdriver going through the metal gearstick gaiter surround, the gaiter, carpet and into the correct hole in the gearbox tunnel. Then removing one screwdriver at a time and fitting the screw.

Hopefully not an issue as only one set of OE holes, but using longer screws due to extra soundproof layer. Will let you know how it goes
Used electric soldering iron to to burn holes for bolts as it seals edges and prevents any fraying.

So seats refitted after cleaning with leather cleaner. Seatbelts reinstalled. Rubber overmats to help keep carpets clean in front.
Just the gear lever metal surround to screw back in place but paint was still wet today, but good progress.
Roll on the nice weather and outings.

Finally finished When fitting gear lever surround, I gave up trying to find original holes through layers of carpet and insulation. So drilled new holes and used longer screws. Roll on some decent weather so we can get out and about.
