Here is my engine, a 1275 Midget one. HIF44 with a stainless LCB and large bore system from ESM. The problem was ultimately contaminated fuel, freshly filled up from a local Esso station. The last thing I had thought of, but it was more than a coincidence that the problem started a few miles after filling up. That is mainly why the diagnosis took so long, as everything else that was checked was found to be working perfectly, apart from the choke O rings, but they had given no trouble before and the crap fuel probably finished them off.
