I would suggest that you either
1. Purchase a new 948cc clutch pressure plate, driven plate and carbon thrust and trust it will all work.
or
2. Upgrade the clutch by fitting a 1098cc rear engine plate, flywheel, pressure plate, driven plate, carbon thrust and clutch release fork/arm Pt No: 22G166. The gearbox front cover for a 1098cc gearbox should be Pt No: 22G118. The part number is cast into the front cover. Check that you have the correct front cover.

You have the wrong clutch release fork/arm currently fitted!!! If you look at the photos you will see that the carbon thrust is off centre relative to the first motion shaft. When I did the 948cc clutch with 1098cc gearbox conversion way back I had to relieve the inside top of the carbon thrust to allow the carbon thrust to press on the clutch cover without fouling the first motion shaft. It does look as if there has been some fouling between the two.
Whilst the standard 948cc release arm has a bend in it the arm shown has a pronounced bend and it may have been heated and bent to suit. I had to heat and bend the release arm on my conversion to get the right leverage/clearance.

My preference would be to upgrade to all 1098cc parts which will make life much easier as you will not have a miss mash of parts and you will know that it will work as it should.

3 years on, how is it all going? I am thinking of getting a Moggy for my next daily. I have a Land Rover Series 3 that I use for odd trips to work. Only thing that stop me from using the Landy as a daily is, she drinks like a fish.

Haha I just came to congratulate the OP on his new car and realised the post was from 2022!

Still made for very interesting reading as I am anticipating getting my first mog very soon and she will be my daily… so the tips for wintering on here were very helpful!

I can’t speak from personal experience but I know many people use their moggies as daily cars with no issues, and it’s got to be cheaper than a Landy… I’ve had one of those too and yes ‘drink like a fish’ is right

Don't forget - they were all 'daily drivers' once......of course, they are all a lot older now but still perfectly practical as a daily, as long as you respect their limitations and maintain them in good condition.
