Have wound my lights up tidly, have taken pics AND have TWO witnesses!!
Evidence to support, although NOT confirmed as yet, 200 VINs voided mid way through the last NZ CKD 8N order.
Becoming quite an involved investigation, why the 700 discrepancy hasn't been picked up in 40odd years bit of a mystery, there's also the question of late 1970 NZ CKDs with early 1971 engines...
Anyone REALLY interested in Minor's built or boxed up at Adderley Park....Zzzzz

Thanks, I think it's important, especially for future generations of enthusiasts.
Why did AP leave it a full year to finally rectify the 700 saga, mystery sweet mystery.
Anyway, problem on database is I'm listing Traveller under abbv. colours; white, blue, dk blue and guess what "LF" is!!
Prefer to list colours under BS numbers, does anyone have a paint code list for AP vehicles?
Obviously, MoD(Green)/RAF(blue) not a problem.

Chris. I have what I think is a list of BL paint codes for Add.Pk. Travs. I can email it to you for your perusal, but on holiday abroad from tomorrow morning, so may not be able to send it until next weekend.
Presumably LF is Limeflower. One of my personal faves!

Ta, not THAT desperate, so no rush.
Important to list vehicle colours if any chance of building any picture of AP Traveller production.
Another question; were blk seats a standard colour, or an option?

I'll send you what I have on my paint/trim database. It's a 'work-in-progress' still but I think it paints (no pun intended) a reasonably accurate picture.

Up to 270odd AddPk Traveller's listed.
Main objective is to find;
1.) When the "J" chassis suffix started/finished
2.) Ditto for start of "F" suffix
3.) First fitted with Neiman ign - (B) 219xxx
4.) Ditto with black engine - (B) 220xxx
5.) Body number of the FIRST built at AddPk
All info greatly appreciated!

Is it possible the list could be posted up somewhere, out of interest?

AddPk Minor's proving to be a REAL pita!
Aim of the game thus far is finding the 700 & identify all CKD batches, exports pretty much in set ranges so not too bothered with that.
E-mailed the LCV Register's Brian Lee, interesting to see what response we receive.

Why should there be a "gap" between the "M" (Cowley) suffixed Traveller chassis numbers - with NO suffixes - & the first of the AddPk built ones WITH the "J"(BMC AddPk) built ones?
The chassis numbers ON the later VIN plates were stamped at Cowley - whilst "MAW5D" & latterly the "F" - at AddPk, whereas "J"(BMC AddPk) stamped at Cowley.
Confused

My old J reg Mini had the same. Often wondered about that, but never did find a feasible reason. Would love to know.

Where abouts - and what shape - was the flasher unit & did the solenoid button have a blk plastic stopper covering the red thingy?

Well, I could be a Traveller owner soon.
I am off to look at a 71 model on Friday, if it is as good as the photo's it should be OK.
I am taking a club member who knows his stuff along to give it a proper looking over before I decide though.
Watch this space

It was forty years ago and I only barely remember.
I seem to recall they were the main bolts holding the steering column and steering lock in place. The hexagonal head was separated from the threaded shaft by a taper, a bit like the middle of a classic egg timer or hour glass. It looked as though a sharp tap could completely remove the hexagonal head making the bolt unremovable - although all heads were present. Not sure why you would want to do that. Anti theft precaution perhaps, but it would make working on the column very difficult.

Try to do a pic on here...
Wonder whether it was just GPO/PO vans which had stickers below dash switches stating operation, anyone have a civvy LCV with these slide off transfers on theirs?
Brian, can you remember the type of switches & indicator stalk other early '70 BLMC vehicles had?

As I recall, flick switches like the moggie. Indicator stalk had a square end that was the horn button. But it’s been many years.

If of any help VERY early Mk.3 Mini with wind-up windows, also Clubman had toggles for lights and wipers (poss H-reg only) but soon changed to rockers (same type as Marina light switch). IIRC they had combined indicator/horn/dipswitch on column stalk. Indicator warning light in speedo (?). Combined ignition/steering lock.
Roughly same applies to 1100/1300 but with long narrow rockers (same type as Maxi) and indicator warning light in fuel/temp gauge combi dial, except base model 1100 with single dial dash. Think this retained toggles and union ignition switch throughout until discontinued (1971?).
Morris Oxford 6 and Wolseley 16/60 kept toggles, union ignition switch, floor dipswitch and indicator stalk with warning light until the end.
A60 half-ton kept pull/push switched for wipers and dash lights and rotary switch for head/side/tail until the end. Union ignition replaced by Niemans lock but poss only on last Suntor caravanettes. At this point I think screen wash replaced pull starter. Floor dipswitch and indicator stalk with warning light until the end.
Marina and/or wood-dash Maxi probably first to have second stalk for wash/wipe.

It's likely that unless I get a MASSIVE input of chassis/body & engine numbers by April, plans for a book on the Minor LCV & AddPk Traveller will have to be shelved
Project taking up too much of my time.
I suppose I could do copies of my own reference book as is - with lots of "?" in production by year -
but enthusiasts want glossy & professional looking stuff these days.
£5 & a sherbet fountain?

Chris, I'm not an expert on publishing but the information that you have collected has great value to Minor enthusiasts. And you should get some recompense for your hard work.
Is there no way that you can make it available on line for a reasonable cost, albeit in incomplete form?
You may also generate more feedback. Just a thought
