Andrew and Bryan I understand you defending the club but you never see it from a members view ever .Why did the club get the cheapest website available and the most basic ??. The site was off for months members lost photos and the site is inferior to the last one which was inadequate .A four post lift

Whats wrong with jacks that we all have to suffice with as mere members a rollover jig does the same job and works fine and who is paying for the public liability for other clubs using it and the hse statement . How many club cars are there at the MMOC unit I am sure members don't know and would like to be enlightened questions never get answered and why do we need club cars when members have superbly restored cars and they are used .I Have been current member for years and Joined years ago but wanted a break and did not renew for some time.

firedrake1942 and irmscher, I'm not saying the committee are angels (or devils). But clearly there is dissatisfaction and this should be addressed. The members should always take priority in any organization.
I would rather this was resolved by the committee perking up a bit, rather than having a coup and sending them all to the guillotine. I've been in organizations where that happened, and it's very stressful for all concerned. But it is always an option. It is in the hands of ordinary members to change things if they want to and are prepared to put in the effort. i.e. stand for committee and raise some support.
But I think I'm like a lot of members. I don't have time to stand for committees etc. and I just want things run smoothly for me. It's irritating when they are not.

Don't want a coup, (except in the country!) but some acknowledgement of grievances and an attempt communication would be a start. The current 'qu'ils mangent de la brioche' attitude merely makes things fester !
'A bas les sans culottes!' as they say round our way !

Fancy That - Somewhat amazed to discover that of all people, it is stated by many reliable sources that the regularly quoted saying " A camel is a horse designed by a committee" is actually credited to none other than the late great Sir Alec Issigonis !

Gillian Barnsley's excellent biography (She is an archivist at BHMIT) of Issigonis is well worth a read. It also explains why the British Motor Industry died!

Nope but will look out for it. Issigonis is exactly how I like my geniuses, flawed and human, and rather sad in a way !

I believe the first quote is possibly a myth. As for the second, is there a lot of that down your way? I must visit

Ah, I love a bit of thread drift. From post-lifts to books.
On most forums a mod would jump in and scold. But we seem to have the run of the place here. Very refreshing.
