I don't know if anyone has mentioned this (got a bit lost in the thread) but surely trafficators are supposed to lift up, stay up, and show a permanently illuminated bulb when doing so. There is no flasher unit when they are connected correctly - they shouldn't flap like you're about to take off!
What has happened is that the trafficators have been disconnected and flashing indicators (not safer per se, just more expected) have been wired in their place. Now, the trafficators have been wired back into the circuit.
What ought to happen is that there should be two circuits - one with a flasher unit for the flashing bulbs and one without the flasher for the trafficators. I can't help but feel some relays might be utilised here but both circuits could be controlled by the same stalk. However, I've seen trafficators wired up in an either/or method whereby flashers are used for normal driving but trafficators can be used if desired.
The
diagram from the SeriesMM site makes it clearer.

Any thoughts from the collective?

Aside from that, obviously! It's not called 'Idiot Font' for nothing, but I suppose they wanted something that looked 'hand drawn' without being so although there are many more acceptable fonts now.

Someone recently on here had a very nasty deep gash on their hand from their headlight peaks.....I suspect they are in the bin now - where they belong......

Already mentioned

The trafficator problem is probably a loose wire, bad earth. You will have to take the side card off to get access to the trafficator. A light spray of WD 40 and continual operation of the switch will gradually loosen it up
Finally got the V5. Chassis number is FBE11/197924. Engine number is AHPM/16828. Doesn't mean a lot to me.
Going to investigate the trafficator soon, but it does look like it's responding to a signal from the flasher unit (not even found that yet!) lol. I suppose going in-and-out in tandem with the "modern" indicator is quite novel.
