Best wishes,

Absolutely! I am also using weld through primer and chassis black on the new metal that will be inside the box sections where possible. I plan to shot blast the complete shell and then use an epoxy etch primer. After sealing any pinholes with JB Weld all the joints will be seam sealed. The underside will have a coat of stone chip and then be finished in body colour. Finally all box sections will be treated to high pressure wax spray.

Stiil got a couple more hours to do after I finish my coffee, but here is another update in the meantime. I welded on the front lower sill panel and the outer sill.[frame]

I also welded on the new chassis rail and lower plate in the engine bay. I used the existing rail to confirm dimensions and left the front few welds so that I could adjust to get a good fit on the front panel if necessary. that can wait now until the LHS is done as it has no bearing in the structural integrity of the body.[frame]

I fitted the front panel to check the inner wing position. A small adjustment with the BFH was necessary to get it to sit perfectly level.[frame]

I welded the new bottom section of the door hinge panel. The inside was painted and plenty of Copperslip applied to the tapping plates![frame]

I thought I might be able to fit the inner wing first, but not enough good reference metal to locate it. So again I removed the rotten part of the floor...[frame]

Looks like you are doing a fantastic job! I'm about to start similar work on a 2 door saloon - and I'm scarred stiff! The bracing looks like a good idea - drivers door already a bad fit and likely to get worse as I start hacking back rusty metal around the sill area. Budget dictates that I will have to fabricate many panels and patches - but I'm not looking for much more than structural integrity. Can you tell me what guage of metal you are using? Thanks.
