Larger inlet valves + better exhaust system, and yes - twin carbs..... But the advantage was in the NON heated inlet manifold...the twin carbs themselves are no better than a single if you mount it on a good single manifold with NO heating...

Would that mean that fitting a better manifold and exhaust system along with an MG head would be best?

The engine I've got needs a new head and has no exhaust so I'll be buying heads and exhausts anyway, I'd be best off starting with the right bits.

YES - of course!! The 12G 940 head is best by far.......

I've heard that head mentioned in Mini circles so I'll look into it, any ideas on exhausts? I don't want it sounding or looking like a boy racer machine with quad 6" pipes coming out the side :lol:

If you can afford it - LCB is the way to go. I'm using a Mini Cooper 3 branch....

Make sure that you get an LCB which will fit the Minor, I have a set of pipes which are too shallow and the exhaust would not fit under the cross member. Anyone want a set of pipes for a 1098 Midget?
