Morris Minor Owners Club

There's a bit of dispute in our family about (I suspect, can't be certain as no names have been named) said dealer.

My sister has never had any problems and is very happy with them!

In the past I have been left going at 70mph on a dual carriageway with no brakes as they hadn't tightened a bleed nipple properly on my brothers MM (they sent us a replacement bottle of brake fluid) and had mine set fire with the interior gutted and the parts replaced with second hand/inferior parts being told that I should think myself lucky that they replaced them!

So as Louise says you can have good reports and bad reports about the same company. Personally I'm never using them again! I would heartily recommend asking at your local club or sending pm's to people on the message board who live locally to see who they use!

I see your point Louise - although as ever the name can just be blanked out......we all know who it is!
I have been trying to establish a dossier of good and bad reports - so far - it's heavily weighted in one direction...........

Are your *** stars supposed to be spelling out the name of the Company ?? If so - they are not spelling the name I had imagined was responsible for this work ?? Wouldn't want to be getting the wrong Co a bad name!

It is a total disgrace that a so called credible workforce is allowed to continue to trade when providing substandard and indeed even dangerous work and advice, this will continue unless people make a stand and take these cowboy workers to court. Posting here wont change a single thing, people will still take their cherished minors to them and keep them in business.
I fully understand how stressed and annoyed you feel but if you do not persue this issue to the end both via the club and courts then I'm afraid they will continue to be allowed to have their fully page adverts in glossy car mags and lure even more people to part with cash for carp work.

Roy - as you are fully aware, posting any details that could potentially identify the company concerned may result in legal implications for the club. You have asked moggiefan to pm you the name of the company and he is perfectly entitled to do so if he wishes but details can not be posted on the forum.

I can only reiterate that any member with a complaint about any trader should forward full details to the Club.

Rob, we can't afford to fix the car and take them to court. It's 'either or' — in terms of money, time and blood pressure.

I fully appreciate your situation, But I am sure that when you win they will be the ones footing the bill

I bought a restored convertible. It looked great new interior but was just rubbish underneath all patches. Then bought a car that was refurbished and sold to sombody for £7500 it was full of rust but now its a great car. good luck with the car

Louise -that's my point - the *** stars are not spelling out the name we have cone to expect - and I am none the wiser by PM as to the name of the well respected restorer who supposedly maintained/restored the car in question. I have no intentions to publicise the name on here - if I do ever find out - but I would like to know!!

Thanks 'fan' - message received and understood. It was indeed as expected.

There is plenty of work to do on this car and also alot of filler where metal should be!

Any trick cyclists here able to enlighten me as to the mindset of these bodgers, they crop up in all trades.

For the bodgers its maxium profoit with as little effort possible!

Is it really that simple, I think there must be something else a little more worrying going on inside.
