I've driven my mog since I first passed my test and have experienced a range of responses, some of them quite unpleasent! I have noticed that my green saloon gets a very poor reception but when I'm in the convertible it's a different matter. Only last week when driving with the roof down a 'young man' in a suped up focus hovered alongside on the A2 to give me a thumbs up...... I did have to smile

I have now realised that people judge you by their own standards and frankly I don't care! I love driving my Mog, it brings a smile to my face and I enjoy the many chats in car parks etc starting with the....'I had one of those'

I'm one of those people: I tank along on the motorway in my Passat (which I do love to bits, 2.5 v6 tdi :D and effortless) but yes, as soon as I spot a Moggie I cruise along next to them grinning like a fool and waving.

HAHA, My first Moggie had working trafficators. So many people pointed and laughed at them when I was sliding round a roundabout. Shame they still didnt pay attention to them!!

Hmm, I'm not sure about with the ladies. More often than not I've had "Not in your car" and "I'm not getting in that". Oh and also "I like you but you need to get a normal car". Don't know what they are missing!

Nice touch. Sadly my standard engine doesn't afford me such luxury. I creep off the line in a cloud of 1st gear whine!

The things you need to watch out for when trying to get street cred are those that are going to stick with you for the rest of your life.
I succumbed to smoking, which was well cool, but managed to avoid hard drugs and/or tattoos/piercings. Experimented with soft drugs but never took to them.
The temptations seem really strong when you are young, but a little way down the road the traps are a lot more obvious.
