I would be up for this, personal preference is for it to not clash with the Birmingham Branch Rally as being a Brummie in exile in Aylesbury :o I would like to do both, but I will accept I am in the minority as most people would be either/or

Cheers,

Paul.

Bump

Has there been any further thought on this?

Perhaps someone has contacted Giles about Wandsworth, or thought of another starting point.

PS Has anyone considered the insurance aspects? Perhaps it would be a good idea to get the event recognised by the club. Or is everyone happy to take part at their own risk?

I did the bike ride a couple of years ago for cancer research, devils dyke is one hell of a hill to climb after 50 miles!

I'd be in for repeating the journey in my new mog,

I think it would be a great idea to have a L2B rally, but it would be bad to actually drive through central London. We stopped doing the London Bridges run for that reason! Too much traffic and cameras! Poor old mog got a ticket - for doing 16mph! (long story).

Anyways, the London Marathon is also on, so any travel will be a nightmare in the city. I suggest somewhere just south of the city, or even east, like Chatham Dockyard. Or somewhere like Biggin Hill?

I think Devil's Dyke is almost certainly the best place to finish though. And Drive it day would be the best day. From May onwards, our mog always goes to Steam Fairs!

Vicky

ps, if you need any help contacting people about starting points, or working out a route, I'd be happy to help.
