looks like a good job! my seats (just like yours) have similar black marks on them, i have been unsuccessful in removing them.

Thanks The only thing i can think that it could be is paint because its not sticky like oil would be.

Hiya, I agree with Louise that the car is most likely to be Yukon grey given the year and the pattern of the rear seat but if it was built in 1960 it's possible that it could be Frilford grey which is slightly more blue.
Frilford ended on chassis number 847831
Yukon started on 847397
This will tell you the which it is as long as yours doesn't fall between those numbers!

Not of that part of the seat but I havent done the base so I will get some pictures of that ASAP

Sorry its been so long yet again but unfortunately it has been decided that Barry is too far gone for a restoration. There is just nothing structural left as much as I hate that there will be one less Moggy on the road there was nothing we could do about it, he was too far gone. He will now become a donor for a future project that we will choose a lot more carefully.

if it is beyond you, is it not worth offering it free to another member with the qualification that it has to be got back on the road? seems a waste to scrap it

I think its beyond anyone to repair it to be honest especially once we take off the bits we have put on to use as donor parts, the only things that will be left are the bulkhead and the roof, everything else is just past it. Believe me if it could be saved i would save it.

what about all the floor panels you welded in? evidence of this in earlier posts.

We are going to take them out and keep them for a furture project.

do you still have the panels for the rear (6 I think, that are "let" into the sides and doors) I am looking for some if they are available.

Unfortunately we have gone ahead with this. There is nothing left but the panels we put in and a couple of bits from the bulkhead and dash. Everything else was rotten through, in all honesty I'm surprised it was still standing when we got it after seeing how rused it all was. We have bought a new one that should arrive tomorrow, if not today, and this one will not be scrapped!
