We have a 3x9m gazebo in the garage (would that be big enough/too big?)

Firstly is anyone 'responsible' for our pitch area this year? If so please can you mention to the organisers about it...

Secondly, can I have a show of hands regarding who'll be there on Saturday morning to help put up a very large Gazebo. We 'might' be there on Friday eve but I'm not sure if there'll be enough people to make the Gazebo worthwhile.

Thirdly, does anyone want to be on stereo duty for Saturday evening? As we'll be in the camping area it won't need to be going on too loud or too late though.

The entry form says (I kept the spare )

'Entry fee to Haynes Museum is £10.00 per car to MMOC members witha valid membership card. The fee includes a Rally programme and rally plaque"

Is the plaque the blue window sticker that I was sent? Is this how they will know I've already paid?

I'll be there so can help with the Gazebo if needed

I should be. I'm planning to arrive at the campsite late Friday night (driving down in Lintilla after finishing work at 5PM ).

The article in Minor Matter states: "Visit Haynes Motor Museum. Separate charge applies". There is also a note at the end of the article stating "Haynes are offering concessionary rates to MMOC members to enter the museum over the weekend". So it doesn't look as though entry to the museum is included in the rally fee.

You should be provided with a plaque and programme on arrival. They will know that you've already paid because a list of pre-booked entrants will be held. The sticker also helps to identify you as someone who has pre-booked.

Ray - I'm not sure that we have a designated 'pitch' as such but those of us arriving early will try to save a space large enough for the gazebo. I'll be around on saturday to help put it up.

Does the rally number indicate where we'll be parked on the day?

Ususally (if you're not exhibiting) vehicles are parked on the rally field in body style eg travellers with travellers, two doors with two doors etc. You'll be directed to where to park on arrival.

Also...does anyone know if there will be a facilty for insurance valuations on the day?

Most of the main Minor traders will be there, and some provide a valuation service. Best to contact them in advance though to check whether they could provide this service at the rally (they're normally quite busy )

Is there a site plan of this years rally online? Just interested in seeing the layout

thinking on coming down (475 miles ) this year

can you bring some bits and bobs to sell ??
if so is it ok to lay them out at your car
or can you put them out at the camp site
do you need to book the camp site ?

Pre- Rally booking closed 13th June, so from now on it's turn up and pay (both entry and campsite) when you arrive It's ok for you to put a small amount of "garage surplus" behind your car for you to offer for sale, there's an autojumble Sat am if you have more and a small charge to enter. I think there are still party tickets available, but again you'll have to check when you arrive now. At the party early on there are children's entertainers, there's a bar and a disco. More details in the May/June Minor Matters.

You can put them out any day you like providing, as Lou has already said, they are a few items of 'garage surplus'. I think you'll need to sell more than a few items though if you're hoping to pay for the petrol from Scotland and back!

Just checked the long term weather forecast for Sparkford. Rally weather as follows:

Thursday - Warm sunshine 20c
Friday - Slight cloud 21c
Saturday - Slight cloud 22c
Sunday - Intermittent showers 21c

There should be no flying gazebo's this year but don't forget to pack your suncream & kagoule!

Well the younguns wanted to do something at the National that wasn't orientated towards us old crusties

I've just googled Haynes museum and they have a full children's amusement area - have a look under fun for the family section. Should keep them happy!
