Great idea Cam! I'd certainly like to read that article.

I have a lot of letters written to me by people who think my magazine is rubbish, only to find they have been subscribing for ten years and continue to do so. Sadly, harsh comments based on nothing in particular come with the territory...
I've got a bit of mag experience too Dougie so I know where you're coming from. Readers seem rarely sure of what they do like, but rudely certain of what they don't. It's much worse when you write features for website forums. I stopped writing for one big motoring website very recently because my fragile ego just couldn't take the abuse. Even though it's almost always ill-informed, it's still abuse, and kind of unpleasant in the tummy.

Turn that frown upside down!

Well, I'm trying now as I'd be really interested in reading it and I think it would make a good story.
PS I've written some too

Very good Bill, but don't let me stop you from writing some more.

Won't be able to have it published in Minor Matters then unfortunately.

Contributions to the mag gratefully received! Can't promise to publish everything I get: I've got quite a backlog as it is, which is a nice position to be in! I do want to try and broaden the appeal so anything a bit 'off the wall' will be given careful consideration. I hope the piece on Snetterton recently was in the right vein: more of that sort of thing could be good.
And thanks to those of you who've written such nice, supportive comments... much appreciated! (I do take note of the other sort too!)

But you did say that your policy was not to publish anything in Minor Matters if its been published ekewhere didn't you Steve?

Stephen, The Snetterton article was great, a refreshing change not only to see modified Minors but also ones being used rather than parked up.
I'll try and put some words together for your consideration soon.

Couldn't have said it better myself Jonathon.
Do you still use one?

Too busy building other peoples, I'm afraid Bill. But I have just bought back a Fiat powered pickup which I hope to have on the road soon, plus our Zetec racer, again hopefully ready for the National and the track- day at Haynes.

I wrote an article a few years back on the JOGLE from a participants angle - it didn't make it into the mag but it won't stop me trying again at some point
