the vacuum advance must be connected for best performance.
Well the dizzy looks to be the type that is blanked off and doesnt have the outlet for the advance/retard pipe.
If you end up having to go for a rebore ect check out the prices for pistons ect from mini spares as they are very competitive and I would also look to change the air filter as those foam types are not too good.

The dizzy clearly has the little stub for the vacuum pipe - connect it!
