well kevin as allways appearing to have a dig at me

i am only stating why should other club members suffer the same

i do not all ways write negative comments and if a part or service i find good then i do say so

it would appear kevin that You are lighting the fire, and it is not only with me

i find your comments about me getting a bit tiresome, so i will in future keep my comments to myself

sory if this is a bit strong, but i would like an apology from you

If you are having problems with a supplier not dealing with returns in an agreeable way, then I beleive that this might be worth posting ... however in my experience all of the morris parts suppliers I have dealt with are more than happy to rectify any problems with their parts at no cost to myself, often they will just send out a replacement and tell you to dump the old part in the bin (although admittedly not with a pair of dampers i once bought, but its only to be expected that they would want the duff ones back in that case)

I'm very glad to hear that you're getting fair treatment (more glad than you may realise).
I've had a couple of experiences that have been different which can make me rather frustrated, but maybe my incidents were more isolated than I thought :D

OK more than happy to give you an apology and say sorry.

Unfortunatly you have misinterperated my comments, the main point I was trying to make was.
What I do find frustrating are postings that offer no constructive advice and just try to stir thing up with the same remarks over & over again and also acting as though they dont know what are in the T & C`s.
I am not trying to light a fire and fan the flames as you suggest its just that the name and shame comments are not giving the traders a chance to defend themselves especially as most problems are resoved quite amicable judging from some of the other comments, if traders are constantly unfairly knocked they may even think about taking the club to court for unfair quotes on the message board and I for one dont wish that to happen otherwise our spares situation could be far worse than that we enjoy today, just look at the issues some other clubs have in just trying to get spares.
Sorry to have gone on a bit.

My own view is that a body should be aware of all it's communication channels and act in the interests of it's members by investigating and putting it's weight behind blatently irresponsible trading when drawn to it's attention. For example; if a manufacturer uses a material for one of it's brake pipes that leaches brake fluid. For a member to draw this to the attention of other members is not slanderous IMHO. It is pure and simple common sense and the body should be seen to be acting upon it.

Sorry to bang on about it, but all "negative comments" MUST and WILL continue to be removed until (if?) the T&Cs change

So -how do we decide if the T &Cs can be changed ??
Vote amongst website users - or vote of all MMOC members, many of whom don't use the website?
I guess I'm in trouble anyway - I said something a bit negative about Haynes a while back !!!!!!!!!!!

Just as well next years National is too far for you then. An MMOC event at the Haynes Motor Museum - what are the chances of you getting let in?

I bet they didn't use their own manuals to put the exhibits together-or is there a huge pile of left over bits in storage somewhere:lol:
I can see both sides of this "debate", but, when an item is particularly rubbish it must be worth posting the fact, as has been done here. I don't think you need to name names, as in this instance, anyone seeing this post and thinking of buying similar will now be wary, whichever supplier they choose!!

Back to negatives again. Why knock Haynes? Their manuals have helped thousands of owners service their own vehicles, and guided many people through quite complex repairs. There might be a few mistakes, but overall they are an excellent guide, and without them there would not be so many Minors still running. I have yet to read any manual where I can find no mistakes whatsoever; and I'm damn glad that I had a Haynes manual to hand over thirty years ago when I first took apart and rebuilt a Minor front suspension.

Sorry to upset you! Just had rather bad experiences with Citroen hydraulics as interpreted by them. I'm sure they have helped thousands, just to get a load of flack from those with short tempers, greasy hands and pages that keep blowing over in the wind at critical moments!

In the Mini world - it's know as HBOL = Haynes Book Of Lies.
Some of course are better than others - many different authors. The Metro Haynes has the very BEST description of an A series gearbox strip-down and rebuild I have seen anywhere! Some of it (not all of course) is very relevant to the Minor box.
