Can I ask, you know the parcel shelf that runs below the dash?
Is this solid? I'm trying to figure what people attach their stereos to ?
Sorry. Just me being stupid!

Not a stupid question at all, and no its not solid Its a bar at the front with the shelf fitted to it generally made from a thick cardboard/hardboard type of material and is not really suitable for mounting a radio, the general options are to fix it within a glove box with a suitable mounting or hang it from under the dash with the appropriate mounting.

On my saloon I fitted it to the underside of the drivers side glovebox to the right of the steering column. There is just enough width - the advantage being it's easy to operate (for the driver anyway

) and isn't immediately obvious to prying eyes. It's held to the metal panel under the glovebox using L shaped mending plates and M5 allen head bolts (available from B&Q etc) The bolts thread directly into the casing of the radio so no need for any theft-proof cage or hideous plastic mounting unit. One bracket on either side and one at the rear. Only real drawback to this is access. I found it sooo much easier to remove the drivers seat and lie on the floor with my legs on the back seat.

Mine's in the same place as Peetee's, attached using a custom bracket I made from some scrap sheet steel. I find it to be a very good location - the display is nicely visible without being too distracting at night, and the controls are easy to reach.

Make sure you use the address of the image itself, not the web page the image is displayed on.

I know to mess with the spacing is illegal, as is to play with the characters.... but I thought square was okay?
Actually. Looking again, it looks pretty small.
