Can anyone tell me what the numbers some of you have referred to are all about? (eg 145/80)

145 = mm wide tread

80 = Aspect ratio = (in English) Side wall height is 80% of first number

A tyre without any number after the first (ie 145) is assumed to be aspect ratio of 80

So 145 s 14
is the same as

145/80 s 14

s = speed rating but I can't remember all the numbers (s is about 112mph)
