Certainly not!!!!! icon_eek.gif It's a different country!!!! icon_cool.gif I just wondered if it counted as north or south of the British Isles.
Well I guess that if it counted as south of the British Isles Wales would be in France. Which would probably work since both countries have an enormous national pride, an incomprehensible language and a dislike of the English.
Before I am labled xenophobic I would like to ad that some of my 'best friends' are Welsh. France, with the exception of the clearly different Morris Minor owners, can look after itself

well actually pretty good.
all the body panels are original and never been welded or patched.
the chassis is really like new as is the inside.
when i bought the van it had only done 37000 original miles.
however now has a 1275 and disc brakes.
the gpo ladder rack was put on by the first owner some where around 1968 to 1972 when it went into a dry barn and was left until 1992

OK, I fitted my new disc kit yesterday and it is a different world, it is going to
take me a long time to remember that I no longer have to change down to
save using the brakes until the last minute! They are excellent and my gear-
box will last twice as long!

Discs have other qualities too...
Stopping just once/twice hard from town speeds of 30MPH in a light car like the Minor, on std tyres, with everthing in good order, there will be little difference. However, drums need constant adjustment to keep them in top order, discs don't. Discs also won't let you down when fording deep water ('try your brakes'). Servoed discs however, raise the spectre of loss of braking advantage if the engine dies.
All this from converting my Wolseley Hornet from drums to (unservoed) discs.

we picked our car up in central london on a sunday, how the car has managed all these years i'll never know, green light foot to the floor, red light stamp on the brake !!
i'm glad to be back in devon where i consider driving to be normal in comparison.
i voted to keep the drums but they do take a bit of getting used to.
then when i get back into the fiesta the first couple of brakes are violent !
