Stops small furry animals (and spiders) climbing in ! When I did a few Sprints - I had to remove the split pin and fit a small cork in the hole. This stopped oil dripping on the track! Then back in the Pits - out with the cork and release the oil. Seemed to keep the Scrutineers happy.

I have finlly traed down the noise!
It's the clutch springs, which are a tad loose in their mountings

I am indeed. No need to worry about these loose springs. all they do is keep the noise down!
