Aye, that's the second or third video I made, but I had a few 'it's very helpfuls' so I've left it well alone.

David - I'm afraid it got dark when I was filming - and I had to work around a neighbour who didn't like me (or my car) and liked to come out and be noisy when we filmed anything - so I kinda skip over putting it back in. Like haynes in video format (reassembly is the reverse of disassembly). Glad you found it useful though

Well I for one think videos (anything moving) are a brilliant idea - much better than staring at a flat book they give the proper 3D image of what's going on- or not!

Actually, I thought it'd passed into obscurity. I've waved it at a few people over the years, because it seems to be useful, but last time I looked for it (there are a few, I fear) it wasn't on the search anymore. So I'm quite surprised it cropped up.

The heater video sound seems to fad out just after the securing bolts under the dash are removed, thats as far as I've got and the heater ain't budgin, any advice on what comes out next to remove it.<br><br>

i remember we used to wrap the springs in grease
but not sure about oil

was that thick axle grease?

yes it was thick grease wrapped in i think denso tape


i have all ways left mine dry
my minor is a one owner apart from me and they are dry and were from the dealership

The heater is held in by two long bolts at the back (towards the bulkhead) and there are two small screws in the bottom of the dash.

You need to do a b of wriggling but should come out then.....

David - Pyoor_Kate made the video so I'm sure she will help you out if you have any problems with it. I think she is watching this thread and if not you could pm her.

there are 2 bolts on the front where the dash is
look at the back of the heater and there are 2 L shaped brackets, undo these from the heater and it should come away from under the dash

after all your help and advice and some wiggling, out came the heater. to be brushed off and placed on the rack for attention later on.<br><br>

The floor came in for some attention next, there were onlt three minor points of attachment, a couple of inches of metal in total, so out it came.<br><br>

I'll be keeping hold of this for parts and reference, boy I sure hope I can get a replacement, I recon this is not worth repairing, what do you think?<br><br>

The benefits of removing the floor moved me on quite quickly, I could now reach the pedals and master cylinder, so out they came, quite easily as there was no solid chassis metal in contact with it.<br><br>

The dolly could now be rolled underneath the whole cab to make moving it far easier. This shot shows how little of the chassis structure still exhists underneath the cab, very little, in fact the only points of contact left now between the cab and chassis are the torsion bars, and "by the cring" are they rusted in solid. advice anyone.
