the door could go back a little . It's fairly tight but even with the quarter panel I think a mm or so will make a lot of difference !!
I'm a little worried about seat belts for the front . Are they a must have? And do they have to be 3 point or lap belts . I'm asking this because looking at the b piller , there's not much room to put an anchor point ?

The 3 point belts usually go to a top mounting below the rear side window not in the b pillar, ours is a late one and they look like they came from the factory like this.

Hello thanks for the reply. Is there any chance you could supply me with a photo and measurements regarding the position of the top mounting point ? It would be a great help

Yesterday was a complete nightmare, I tackled the rear inner arch, if you look back on this project , I had to cut the new inner arch in two to get the back half to fit . So yesterday I fitted the front section , these pics are of the rear chassis repair.

Now, these pics are of the front rear inner arch and shows it doesn't fit in a few places.

The first pic was taken inside the car , you can see the gap between the top of the chassis leg . The second pic , you can see the shape is all wrong to. I had to make a decision where to cut it to make it fit. First I cut the flange in a few places to see if I could ease it to fit .

It kind of helped , it made it easier to push it under the quarter panel lip.but it didn't make the gap on the chassis any smaller, and the lower section seemed to not sit right , as you can see yesterday was not my favourite day!

So what I needed to do ,was to clamp up what I could then cut a slit at the bottom upwards so the lower section sits behind the quarter lip .

After doing that the chassis gap stayed the same so I throw a few tools around to make me feel better and cut 6 inches off the bottom of the panel

clamped it on the chassis rail and started welding

The top section took a bit of a beating to get it flush with the lower section , luckily I remembered my panel hammer and dollies , I when welded it in places while planishing it up

I was hoping that this wouldn't take long , as I wanted to get the other front chassis leg in , any way , I sanded down the welds and used a da to remove the black stuff they insist on painting these new panels with ! And underneath the car too , then etched , primed , and sealed and stone chipped it all
