The holes

Well it's all fitted now so I won't be removing it luckily the front holes on the front engine floor lined up just fine ,so I must be doing something half right

Also I fitted the front cross member which I made, so il hopefully be fitting the other leg soon when spare time shows it's self !

Next il clean up the welds , and make it look more presentable ,fit the other leg,swap the axle stands around then continue with the rear arch .i better mention this, when fitting the chassis ,to help ,I used the gearbox rear mount to make sure it lined up . When the other leg is being fitted il fit it the proper way around and bolt it up fully .

Today I cleaned up the welds on the chassis leg, I also sanded the under side of all the panels fitted at the front drivers side as it had a little light rust under neath the black coating, u used 80 grit to do this, then I cleaned up the dust and etched primed it , then primed it with aerosol primer.i then began to seal up the joints with sealer and brushed it in, I left the sealer to dry for a good few hours then stone chipped the underside.

I also managed to fit the lower B pillar I made , it didn't fit to well tho , I had to cut little bits off it to get it to fit !

I then done the same process priming wise and sealing ,

I also gave the arch another coat , just in case !

Like me, you no doubt found the available retro panels for the lower b posts are nearly twice as wide as they should be. I guess the company responsible had all their measuring equipment pinched, or took their dimensions from another make of car!

After all this , I fitted the door and wing back on ,just to make sure I hadn't messed it all up

To be honest I didn't buy any , I thought it was easy enough to make ,but when I tried fitting it to the car , it was a no go !!

Now these door and wing gaps are not bril, the door and quarter gap is about 3-4 mm but flush with the quarter , and the wing gap is like 9mm , do you think the pillar needs a persuading tap with a large hammer and a block of wood ?

The wing will go back a bit , but the very front bolt hole will need file out, but the wing doesn't sit proud to the door at the top as much as it did before ,so I'm going to leave it, I am the customer after all
