I vaguely remember the “Borrowers” or may be confusing it with a similar movie involving mice in a derelict mansion. Wasn’t every vehicle in the movie a Morris of some model including a stretch limo Minor?

Were British Heritage body shells available for the Minor? 80£ sounds very cheap at any time.

The borrowers were tiny humans not mice. The picture with the car shows lots of minors, There was a limo for sale recently allegedly from the movie but I thought that was an morris oxford?
No idea about price of shell, thats just the newspaper cutting on display with the car.

The Morris Minor assembled from parts by Jock Pinkerton and his son dates from the 1970s. Only a few years after Morris Minor production ended. I can well imagine that a bodyshell of an obsolete old car and sold to an employee at that time cost only £80.00. You could buy a roadworthy car for that price at the time.
Heritage bodyshells (British Motor Heritage) are a much more recent thing and were never produced for Morris Minors in any case

At East Kirkby Airshow yesterday, only Minor there (which is quite unusual), but we parked next to a 1956 Minx I've seen there in previous years.
This time had a chance to speak with the Owner, who told me he had a Traveller back home, which if I recollect correctly he is the original owner of, but liked to get the convertible Minx out if the weather was good.
He's just received his 50 yr MMOC Badge, being a founder member.
We had quite a chat about Basil's rebuild, back in the 1990s, and some of the things I had discovered since owning him.

This Ford V8 Pilot was interesting; pretty much original, although has an Alternator fitted despite retaining 6v Pos Earth electrical system :o
Not what I was expecting :D

Finally, anyone got an idea why a 1942 Austin Mobile Canteen had been fitted with a Emergency Vehicle Bell :-? :-?
Perhaps it's proof that a Cuppa Tea is an essential service for the British Worker.

Not recent, October 2025.

Posted because I just read Bernie's correction in Minor Matters (Vol 47 No 5 September/October 2026). Here is the Avro Shackleton Mk 3 at Gatwick Aviation Museum with my car "Xavier" third from the left.

From the looks of it, you were there at the same photo shoot.

Update: My magazine arrived about 30 mins after posting this. I see another member also spotted the incorrect details. :tu1:
