As I was returning from an RM Club Committee meeting yesterfay afternoon, a beautiful-looking Teal Blue Pickup passed me heading south on the A49 near Whitchurch. It was on a trailer being pulled by a SUV.

Caught up with, and followed for a few miles, a splendid early 1000 convertible - (sage?) green and with broad pale blue vertical stripes on the boot, together with a luggage rack. On the St Keverne road, we parted ways at Garras and he went on to Helston, while I headed for Gweek. Waved goodbye, of course

I went to a very local classic car show today in the village I live in as I don't normally do car shows and apart from mine there was only one other Morris Minor a blue convertible. There were hundreds of cars MGs,Fords,Rolls Royces etc.

This Topic isn't seeing much action these days.
We went to the annual East Kirkby Air Show today (Lincolnshire for those that don't know it), which was a total washout as far as any flying was concerned, as the weather was so bad. Cloud was down to as low as 300ft in places around the east midlands

It's the 3rd time we've taken Basil and in past years there have been several rows of cars on display.
Considering it was a Sell Out for advance ticket sales, a lot of people must've only visited for a short time, or just wrote the day off and didn't bother.

Today there were only 10 vehicles (inc a 38 yr old Ford Transit), but there were 3 Minors. :tu1:
Basil was the oldest there, although a close run thing with the Austin Westminster.
I must admit I didn't note the reg of the Citroen DS, hiding behind Basil, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't one of the earliest 1950s models...

I guess many of the 'Classics' were deterred by the weather, as it seemed many of the general public were. They only sell something like 5,500 tickets, which is a comfortable crowd for the size of the place. Booking to take a Classic has 2 advantages, the driver gets a half price entry and your car is 'right there' rather than being 5-10 minutes walk to the main car parks, giving the convenience of access to chairs, picnic or whatever else you've taken with you. We've been on 3 previous shows and had a great time.
Unfortunately yesterday was just a terrible day for it; today's weather is blue skys with just a little high cloud
