Nice photo's, they even look lovely in the wet :-? speaking of wet, I got up this-morning nice and early to go to a show near Durham City, it was pouring down.... mind, at least it's a bit fresher and now seems to be brightening up ( typical North East weather )... still going anyway  Hope the weather has improved up there for you all..

Bit of an update....
Met everyone off the ferry with 5 minutes to spare, went for an hours fishing on the way there, the mackerel were catching well so nearly didnt make it in time.

Everyone off an a quick organise, Harold sorted out the show information then 5 minutes up the road for a pic at the chapel.

Alex & Ray followed to here, quick sort out and they were ready to get tents up, had gotten dark by then.
They had to use the old range rover to get into the field.
Ray drove.... out of the yard and up the track...
Ray missed the turning ...
Ray disappeared over the horizon :o
Found them eventually and got them in the correct field, pitched tents then back to the house for a bite to eat.
In the meantime Neil had turned up from the B&B they are staying in, complete with mechanical problem - hunting on idle and cutting out completely.
The lads got down from the field and the headscratching began.
Turns out the fuel pump points were goosed - mere stubs of not much left. new set fitted, running sweet as a nut now.
Bacon sandwiches & beverages (was gone midnight by now), ray and myself drinking nice cold beers.
Turned in gone 2am for some much needed sleep.
Raining this morning, slap up breakfast and a quick trip over the road to the Ring of Brodgar, Oh we got soaked through.
The lads have just departed for the show, will follow in a little while as not entering no need to get there early.
Everyone else is already there, will post a pic or two later.
BBQ might be on the cards later depending on everyones plans.

3pm and we are all sitting in the cafe at the auction mart having just been stars for a few min parading around the arena. It has rained all day until just before the parade. Some very impressive cars here, a good range of years from 1911 to a 1976 Triumph 2500, plus 2 Sinclair C5's! A great fun few days, not without it's heart stopping moments! Thanks to all for their participation and company. Thanks also to Kevin and Jane for their hospitality last night especially the midnight bacon butties! I think we all would like to do it again next year. Now for the run home.:-) cheers, Neil and Steph

the carb is fine thanks Andrew. The mixture was a bit out causing the hunting at idle. I think one of the very nice men fiddled with it. All running smooth now. We still haven't had to use that spare exhaust!

On the way home now. Had a scary moment this morning-the car started sounding like the exhaust had gone again. Had a look under the bonnet-all was firm and tight. Must be the silencer I thought. a few miles further and the car was running a bit rough and short of power. Up goes the bonnet again and the spare condenser fitted-no change. On looking under the bonnet again all became clear-the air filter had not been tightened properly and had worked loose. There was a gap big enough to poke my finger into between the filter and carb. Power loss and 'exhaust' noise solved in one! All running fine now, currently 10 miles from Inverness.

Just arrived at Dunfermline travelodge at 10pm. Lovely drive through the Highlands-weather was clear and sunny giving us some fine views of the hills. The car has run a treat, we stormed the last 50-odd miles from Pitlochry at a solid 60. Next leg tomorrow is to Nantwich, via the A7 through Hawick.
