Ray - Alex - looking 99.9% certain that there will be a spare room finished on the house by then - and the caravan will be moved, sorted and certainly usable for a couple of nights.
Mentioning this now in case your not planning on camping anywhere else so to save you lugging the stuff and all.
Also Ray when you get 5 drop me a PM on the other board as might have another solution to your transport conundrum.
Dragon suggested we try and get you a cheap flight (if one can be found) if your in a rush to get back.
Oh and also i'm hoping to get the ferry & bus to inverness for when you lot are passing through as need to go on a junk food bender so might be looking for a lift up for that leg
Can someone let me know on tother board when planning to get to inverness so i can look into it.
Oh also bumped into Harold from the vintage club yesterday and asked to pass on regards to all, cant wait to see you all and he's hoping the weather will be better for you all this year.

As has already been mentioned, we would like to invite those of you that unfortunately cannot join us for the complete run, to at least have the opportunity of meeting up with us at some point. Perhaps you would even like to take in a part of the run.
So to give you some idea of the planned route I am posting here the basic details. If anyone is particularly interested, please send me a PM for more information.
Sun 3rd August - Lands End to Cirencester - Including a visit to The Lizard, the most southerly point in mainland Britain.
Mon 4th August - Cirencester to Ripon - Visit Crich Tramway Museum (arrangements already made)
Tues 5th August - Ripon to Beamish - Visit Beamish Museum (arrangements already made)
Wed 6th August - Beamish to Gretna Green - (Scenic Route)
Thurs 7th August - Gretna to Fort William
Fri 8th August - Fort William to Thurso - Visit to JOG, & Dunnet Head, the most northerly point in mainland Britain.
Sat 9th August – Sponsored Northlink Ferry to Orkney, Scrabster to Stromness passing by the Old Man of Hoy – Orkney sightseeing visits being arranged.
Sun 10th August - Attend Orkney Vintage Club Rally.

You'd need a FI car to do that journey in!

It's not far from the JOGLE mileage, so could be done in a standard Minor 1000 in 18ish hours without rushing...

Fort William - Land's End - Dunnet Head - Thurso is about 1100 miles! To do it in 18 hours you'd have to average over 60MPH.

I just had a slightly bonkers idea. I could drive Lintilla on the first half of the run, get my dad to bring Fenchurch to somewhere near Huddersfield, do a quick tag-team changeover, then drive Fenchurch on the second half of the run.

We have booked our ferry crossings and most of our accomodation. We are going on the overnight Kirkwall-Aberdeen boat on the Monday so we have all day to explore. It also means we knock 200 miles off the return and arrive in Aberdeen at 7am. Got the discount on the outward journey from Scrabster but not on the Aberdeen leg so far-am going to ring again tomorrow and speak to the sponsorship manager.
