.Just make sure the trim is perfectly flat - lay it on the floor & see if it's bowed anywhere.
Any bowing will need to be sorted out before it's slid into the rubber.
I've found the best way is to fit the ends into the groove from the outside edges then slide the strip in toward the centre.
Once it's all the way in, you should be able to ease the groove lip over the strip.
Then just fit the joiners. They sit under the centre pillar so it might need to be loosened a bit if they're tight to fit.
