Thanks for the advice all. I did call the insurance company and listed everything and they advised the only thing of relevance was the change in engine size. I imagine this probably varies from insurer to insurer. They made a note of the bigger engine but thankfully it won’t affect the premium.
The modifications on the car were done by a previous owner over 30 years ago and he was a fully qualified mechanic so they have been done very well, nothing is bodged. The car still has the drum brakes but they are servo assisted and they are very effective. The seller was happy to demonstrate and let’s just say… it was lucky I had a seatbelt on
Overall this little car ticks a lot of boxes and will be a hard car to beat in terms of how well cared for it is… BUT seeing as the seller isn’t in a rush, I’m not going to rush my decision either.
