The steering rack shims Pt No: ACA5249 (0.003") & Pt No: ACA5275 (0.010") are fitted under the main rack damper cap which is located under the steering rack pinion. The secondary damper does not appear to have any shims (just a fibre and packing washer) and shims are not listed for it in the BMC parts list.
The shims are fitted as required to the main damper. See BMC wksp manual Section J6 for detailed instructions.
The secondary pad was not originally fitted ex factory and had in the first place had to be retro fitted. See BMC wksp manual Section J10 for details. The secondary pad was fitted as standard on later steering racks.

Search the part numbers and for example, ACA5249 can be obtained from

https://abingdonmgparts.co.uk/shim-0-00 ... 3a-aca5249

The ACA5275 is a bit harder to find, but they are showing Low Stock here:

Great thanks all. I've only looked at ESM, will take a look at AMG.
In other news, I managed to get some EP90 into the rack by removing the grease nipple and pumping in it using an oil can with a flexible hose. First time in something like 30+ years that it's been done with oil!

Likewise I found only one of the dampers available as a replacement. Local Machine Shop soon made a new one.
