Aye, there might be the odd number on there, but I don't have one in good enough condition to be able to tell!

I did have one, in perfect nick.... I did..... If I can save it, I will clean up and post a picture. And you can get a HTC just by bodynumber, cost an extra £10!

OK lads............Again I am talking about LCVs only!!

the 2 indents either side of the pressings NMP (Nuffield Metal Products) contain numbers I must stress I am talking about LCVs, the left indent is the body number (as on that plate on the bulkhead and the chassis number appears on the right one.

To read one (I have one in front of me) you need to drill aout the 2 welds that seem to hold it in place.

So now you can see whay there is a link between Chassis & body numbers as on LCVs NMP recorded both!

lastly none of the letters normally used on chassis & body numbers are used on this plate...............happy hunting lads

LCV Cab/Body Numbers

GPO/PO Minor vans can be accurately year dated.

Series 2,early Ser3 GPO van cab numbers ran,in the majority of cases, consecutively wth individual chassis numbers.

All other GPO/PO vans can easily be year dated!

Civilian LCVs can be a little tricky (owing to exports/CKDs), but can certainly be year dated!

LCVs have been sorted, now for saloon, convertables & travellers........

I know mine is... My old man made it up out of a couple of scraps he found on some of his farms, 20 years later, weve got her back on the road.
