That's the sort of correction I'm all for - as I tried to say in Multiphonikks' post!

Hello,
Regarding the paint or enamel, I just remembered that two of my old bicycles from the 70's have a similar finish to metallic, they are painted with primer, while paint on top then the colour of choice on top and then possibly a clear laquer.
Because the colour of choice is only applied thinly it allows the while underneath to show through a little bit so the colour appears to be metaillic.
At least I'm pretty sure this is the case because I've started re-painting a chain guard and so I've rubbed down through the coats to prime.
Hope this is of help

As they are so cheap and easy to come by wouldnt it be easier to buy one, or do you want to keep it because it is origional to your car. Im sure that you can buy one exactly the same in good nick for your car.

ok, then, I suppose you could use humbrol like some people have mentioned, or another good idea is to mix up small amounts or cellulose paint in tubs and paint it with a brush, This should give a good finish, but I don't know weather you would need to primer first.

Just to add my views, model paints and a careful hand are best Juilet, lastly not all LCVs were supplied with the chrome bonnet flash!!

thanks sam and russell
russ... yeah i know not all of them had the bonnet flash (how do i know? - your books!

) but mine has a non-original bonnet anyway and i prefer the look of the bonnet with the flash on it, so i don't feel too hassled by needing to know whether mine did or didn't have a flash originally.... it sure isn't going to look original when it's finished so......
anyone got a pic of a badge they have re-coloured?
