Sorry Cam, but I think you are being over sensitive. Jonathan did NOT refer to you as ignorant as you seem to think, he simply stated that you were working from a position (to the best of his knowledge) of ignorance of the performance of the coilovers. I think that is a fair use of the english language and is exactly how I would have put it in his position - with no direct insult intended. To say someone is ignorant is one thing, but to suggest ingorance of something (lack of knowledge of) is an entirely different thing.

Sorry for the rant, but this kind of thing really annoys me on forums like this. The Rover P5 one I also post too has a far better attitude and allows sensible posting of offers of parts and assistance.

We are simply following the MMOC's terms and conditions, as moderators. The MMOC pays for this messageboard, so we have to abide by their rules.

Just to let you know though, this type of discussion has been repeated time and again...... it really needs to stop as it's causing ill-feeling on the messageboard. It got to a point a while ago that the MMOC MIGHT have considered pulling the plug....... But things were smoothed over at that time. Trouble is that it keeps re-happening.

I did say JLH and others though not just JLH However i am in favour of supporting english firms producing products in england that were designed there (notice a theme going on?) No comments on rover though please

Agreed! There needs more support of English firms and not ones that exploit foreign labour at the cost of a poorer quality product and English jobs! Well done that man (men)!

Don't want to start a row, but I get fed up when people refer to 'English' when they actually mean British. It's bad enough on the EBC, but not here please.

Now Cam, if I have offended you by your mis reading of my post then I appologise. I was meerly saying that you,(one) cannot seriously advise someone not to purchase let alone concider a product when One does not have the experience of it. Chicken john had also told TerryG to save his money and grief and not fit the K series, WHY!?, yes all of you are completly right to express your opinions so long as they are based on some sort of factual evidence,experience or knowledge. It is unfair to suggest a negative comment to a poster on this forum unless justified and is not a comment made in ignorance. I certainly would not abuse my limited liscence to write on this forum by insultig any of the members on it.
I understand from Cam's comments that my days are numbered on this forum as I have upset someone, or some body during the postings I have made. When I write for any publication or web forum I am determined not to push my products infact I avidly promote others such as C Street and S. Forman. I write here to try and impart the experiences and Knowledge I have gained in over 12 years of working on the minor in a professional capacity. I only give out prices when a direct question has been posed,often I ask others to PM me so as not to bend the forum rules.
If it is the will of the moderatore that I be excluded from thios forum then I see it as a bad day for inside knowledge and helpfull advice.

English is usually what we mean! My car and its parts were produced in England and I'm proud of it.
If Welsh people want to be proud of Wales - that's fine. If Scottish people wnat to be proud of Scotland, people accept it. If I want to be proud of English heritage - especially classic cars , I can only see that is a good thing.

Next week I'm taking a German customer to Gaydon motor museum - I recently found out he loves English cars and he runs an MG-A in Cologne (I don't know if he really 'runs' it - maybe he just pushes it ;-)) so we changed the meeting venue to Warwickshire.
At their offices in Cologne I have seen quite a few calendars with classic English cars - I guess we forget that we have a proud history as the PC brigade mistake the term 'English' as zenophobic or racist.

WELL I FOR ONE WOULD NOT LIKE TO THINK THAT JOHN HAS HIS DAYS NUMBERED, A VERY HELPFUL AND KNOWLEDGABLE GUY LIKE THIS CAN ONLY DO THE MORRIS MINOR FRATERNITY GOOD.

I'm sure it's not just Cam that took it that way - I certainly did too, so it's good to know it wasn't personal.
Having been in Cam's car I can quite see exactly why he said what he did as Terry wanted to to know what people thought. Cam's car handles very well on uprated torsion bars - far better than I would have expected.

Personally I'm happy for people to express opinions (whether based on a lot of knowledge or not) as it's a forum for private individuals do to just that.

The problem is that text comments can easily seem a lot more harsh than they were intended - we humans have developed a huge amount of non verbal communication ;-) which lets the listener know what is meant. Sadly on-line we are limited to a few yellow winks and smiles which most people don't even use
Maybe the next generation will get to grips with it - either that or they'll just nuke the planet

very brief answer its the 90s replacement for the "A" series. comes in various sizes and can be made to fit in a minor (with some mods)

Spot on Ray!! - If anyone ever asks me, I'm English, not British. Same as most Scots say they are Scottish and the Welsh, Welsh. I've yet to hear a Scot refer to himself as British!
