Good news is a gent on Retro Rides had a full Q&H clutch listing and lo and behold a mazda 323 between 1989 and 1991 had a 190 mm 22spline on 24mm dia clutch.
One has been ordered and is on it's way, it's a full kit so I may even be able to use the pressure plate.

Well it turns out the Q&H catalogue was wrong all the 323 clutches have 20 splines, so I bit the bullet and ordered a 1.6 mx5 one.
The good news is the mx5 cover is only 2.5 mm bigger radius than the flywheel, so by filing the holes to slots and skimming 2.5mm off the outside of the cover it fits.
This is the cover with the holes filed to slots and the flywheel drilled to match, just need a set of matching cap head bolts.

Was it difficult to centre the clutch accurately when filing the holes?
Did you drill in place new dowels?
If so did you do this before or after filing the fixing hole
and how much did the centres differ between the pressure plate and flywheel centres?

Dave.
