well of course the problem lies in availability of pick ups, there are not that many around, so there is no choice if you really want one.
personally speaking i would have said from the description that at £2600.00 is overpriced.
you could end up spending more than a very good restored one at £4000.00
there are no ques for vans or pick ups either, unlike say convertables and travellers which seem to sell very well.
there is an excellent one in worthing sussex for sale at £3500.00 with tilt as well.
and remember, check the chassis thoroghly before parting with any cash.
tap all over the chassis with a hammer, and good areas will ring, bad or rusted areas will sound dull, no need to poke around.
chassis repairs can be very expensive, and of course the van and pickup the chasis is the most important bit.

austins do fetch a little more, change of badges and provision for a mech pump on the side of the block and that is about it, except on the 8cwt version which had thicker rear leaves and thicker steering arms.

It has been serviced a few months ago and the Morris Garage owner (from what he can remember given that it was a few months since he's seen it) did say it had'nt any immediate need of attention though he did warn me that I could easily spend £2600 on it again if I wanted to fully restore her. However the recent heatwave has done its work and I'm now committed to buying her. I would like to thank everyone while I'm here for your helpful hints as they are going to come in very useful.

Many thanks again.

Steve Graham.

Yes I did buy her and I'm looking at various ways to insure her as cheaply as possible while getting fully comp cover. Saying that shes going to cost me a bomb to fully restore her.

Steve.

When you've done that, can you send the logbook to Eleanor for the car you sold in January? Just the tear off slip would be enough!
6 months and still waiting...
