Definitely get the pistons fitted to the rods by a professional ! They do NOT 'drift' out - they need to be pulled/pressed out and they are a VERY tight fit. You need to check/inspect the bores very very carefully before investing in these pistons - which are NOT cheap !! But have you asked MED about all this ??
I would also inspect the crank very carefully - since it's all in bits anyway. Was the engine bought from MED - or from a n other ?

The engine was built by Jonspeed racing using an MED kit. I spoke to MED today it would seem the kit was never supplied with the pistons that are in the engine so i think someone has been skimping somewhere!!! Unfortunately the engine was built 2 yrs ago(sat waiting to be fitted!!!) and Jonspeed cant even remember building it yet i have all the receipts. The rods and pistons are currently at an engineers having the pins removed ready for the new pistons to be fitted tomorrow. I have gone over all the components with a fine tooth comb, everything appears to be in brand new condition(Except pistons LOL)
Hope this clears it up a little
Cheers

Amazing that 'Jonspeed' have no memory of it when it goes wrong !! Everyone take note !!
Good luck with it when the new pistons are in - and yes 120 degrees.
