Yes, I have known that to happen too - although I was actually revving up a hill in a low gear at the time. Made one hell of a bang and a very small dint in the bonnet! I have also had a piece break off the fan pulley whilst on the road, which made an 'interesting' noise too!TDV102 wrote:A cautionary tale - when checking the fan belt always check the condition of the fan itself.
