It is the same piping - but a shorter length is required for the front. Front wing piping was only fitted on Series MM and early Series 11 cars. Not Minor 1000s. The factory started simply using a caulking sealant for the front wing seam instead. No reason why you can't use a length of wing piping if you prefer though.

Did it today: I wasn't satisfied using only a seal (anti corrosion strip in this case). I didn't like that gap. I already had two pipings for the rear wings, so I cut one into two pieces and also cut out spaces for the thread bulges. Then I glued it with the seal strip and it looks fine for me. Must remember to buy one new piping for the rear where the wings shall be installed within the next two weeks.
