R.I.P Roy. I neveret him and have only been a member of this forum for a very short while but he was tremendously helpful and clearly gave so much time and knowledge to all on the site. Will be missed

Rest in Peace, Roy. Yours was always the answer I went with.
I mutter 'It's never the coil' while deciphering the Lucas mysteries.
We'll see you over the range.

Does anyone have details of family and address? I think it would be a good idea for us to club together and send them something to show how much he has given to the forum over the years and that he'll be missed.

Very sad loss. I too met Roy a few times, and found an enormous difference between the prickly persona he sometimes liked to project on here and the true gentleman he really was.

The end of an era.
A character - Yes.
Knowledge - Massive.
Always helpful - if at times a bit prickly in its delivery - but that was Roy.
Will he be missed - Yes massively and by Many.
R.I.P Roy.

So sad to hear the news. I too haven't been on the forum much lately so wasn't aware of any health issues.
What a great wealth of knowledge and stories he was.
From fixing dropped bottom trunions with a strap at the roadside to get going again, adjusting torsion bars at the roadside in 15 mins, correct oil in the dampers and drum brakes !!!!!
Going to be greatly missed on here.
R.I.P. Roy
I too add my condolences to his family and friends at this time.

So sad, my condolences to all his family. A proper hands on guy, who when I had carb problems offered a replacement free.
Will be much missed.
