Adjusting the Tappets ----too ingrained to start calling them rockers.

Well, they make a tapping sound, that'll do me!

On the manifold? Really?
So I'll be best of re fitting something to alleviate a build up in pressure, so a mushroom valve would do?

The tappers can be found in Cornish tin mines and they used to live on the remains of Cornish pasties

There is no pressure in an inlet manifold only a depression. Unless you are lucky enough to have a supercharger fitted.

What you have fitted is acceptable but a piece of reinforced servo vacuum pipe with two Jubilee clips to restrain the pipe would be better than the piece of yellow pipe currently fitted.

Thanks for the help
But would the original type valve be better still? Is it worth me searching for one?

Not really - just make sure the hose is clean.

Hi Phil, you are thinking of the Knockers, not Tappers. They even had a beer named after them! See
