The future is looking good then !!!! Already got your vastly improved trunion seals, looking forward to original spec engine mounts just out of curiosity in comparison to my BM 'original spec' mounts.

The horrible vibration at ~5,000rpm has completly disappeared with the NOS engine mounts fitted. So has a driveline vibration that had become very noticeable at 70/75 mph (the prop was refitted in the same orientation as before). The ONLY change in the whole area has been the NOS engine mounts, so it looks pretty conclusive that they do need to be the original soft rubber compound. Not surprising really, as I would expect that BMC did their homework at the time.

The problem I see with making new mounts will be the metal parts -maybe they will need to be 'exchange' items.

I had the same problem with some I purchased from a supplier so purchased a new set from bull motif and they were definitely softer than the others but not as soft as original ones. It is very annoying doing the same job twice, I have had a lot of trouble with new parts not been up to original spec infuriating at times.

I did a drawing for a prototype using standard vibration mounts. The only problem I have with this design is how to fit the locating pin. If it works it is a cheap way of doing it. These mounts which have just arrived this afternoon cost about 1.5 GBP each but I am concerned with the resistance to oil.
I also have received some Polyurethane in 55°shore so I could cast them solid and then the pin is not the problem but the bonding of the 2mm steel plates plates.
I measured the radius as being 175mm on my Midget 1275 engine. Is the Moggy plate the same?
The repro mount I received from one of the usual suppliers had of course the wrong radius. Can anyone check the radius on the engine towers?

Any ideas or suggestions welcome.

Declan, wishing you a speedy recovery.
As far the bonding is concerned, I could help if you wish. The trouble is the steel has to be cleaned and primed. preferably with a primer which can chemically bond onto the steel and the adhesive, and to the PU. I would recommend an ms polymer.
Have a look at the Loctite website.

The arc of the 1275cc Midget and 803cc/948/1098cc Minor front engine plate where the front engine bolts onto is/are the same radius.
The only difference between the plates is that the 1275cc front engine plate had an additional strengthening plate for the dynamo (latterly alternator) adjusting stud attached.
