If it's down to either running the risk of a blown bypass hose, or risking possible damage due to iffy circulation, I'll chance the former, as you say unlikely with the solid hose and doubly unlikely if you make sure it's put on properly with the right clips. I'm confident it won't cause me to be stuck at the side of the road!
