Looks like the wiring is a bit dodgy but not hard to replace.
I assume the white thing holds a fuse. That could probably do with being replaced also.

There must be more wires going to the amp box. It might be my small screen but they look too large to be power supply cables (unless it's drawing a lot of current as valves might). Those cables look braided ie aerial cable although I might be completely wrong mind you but could it be an aerial signal amplifier? Were those around then?

The socket hole with the spikes on the far right is where the radio lead plugs into and the metal thing hanging holds a fuse

On my screen it looks white but that may be the fact that I'm a bit colour blind.
Go on, have a go fixing it. You may be pleasantly surprised :D

Absolute Radio, 5 Live and Talksport are still transmitted on AM and there may be more. The only way to know is to turn the tuning knob and find out.

I suppose it would its been in the car a long time I should investigate the box first to see if there is any life in it , perhaps its not connected to the battery , the previous owner said it all the interior was restored so if that was done why would he have left that, the car has been in dry storage unused for 8 years before I got it might be something just silly but my interior light isn't working either and ive put a new bulb in

Why do we get 3 pictures of your car ? Nice as it looks - one would suffice........ :-?

Hi,
my car was bought brand new by my parents in 1966 and it was a special order black, the deluxe model and came with a radio fitted. Don't have the radio any more but it looked fairly similar to the one in the picture but pretty sure it was a Motorola.

Regards,
Wal
