Well once again welcome to the law of sod !!!
Replacement dampers are too short, the new damper fully extended is only just the same length as my old spax units on the car sat on it's wheels. So there's no more length in the new damper for suspension travel in that direction.
Yes that link to the spax kit above looks exactly like the set up on Boris Minor. Ah well at least the spax units aren't duff so we're ok n still rolling.

Now there's a turn up for the books.
Just done a search on the oil damper number as supplied by ESM which is KYB442001 and it comes up with Austin Mini front damper.

Which is FAR too short a damper for the Minor rear suspension movement! Mini front suspension moves very little - and the damper is mounted 'inboard' - so has very little effective movement.

Good job I also have a mini project car also !!! can bung'em on that so not a total loss

Yes as you say, no good for the rear of a minor, well not with my set up anyway. Didn't think i'd get mini dampers to be honest from ESM, but as I say as luck would have it I have a mini rebuild project too, so i'll just put the dampers on there.
