It's been running fine, really lovely, but this morning it was surging and backfiring a bit. At first he put it down to the cold, but then he made the suggestion. I'll have to look up the Distributor Doctor you mentioned.
I ended up in a conversation with a cabbie who had installed an electronic iginition in a Jensen (I think). He recommended a kit; I should find his note.

Good shout, I'll look that up. I think that's what the mechanic used to check the levels.

Put your location in the place provided, no need for full address, just town/county. Many people refuse to do this for some reason but it's useful if seeking help and especially if selling stuff.

Just wanted to update the forum on the condenser. Got in touch with the Distributor Doctor and he sorted me out. Garage put a new condenser, points and rotor arm in today. Car running much more smoothly now; mechanic said he took it out for a run and a biker wanted to race him.

I actually believed him, because it's not the first time it's happened. Years ago, when my father first got the car, we were at a traffic light and a guy in .. something equivalent to an Escort X3Ri wanted to race. And apparently another time when my mother was driving, some boy racer types tried outrunning her. All bit peculiar, really.

Better check in case someone has stuck a 'TURBO' badge on the back door

Thinking about it, it's probably the spoiler. It's made out of lolly sticks and margerine tubs.
