Footman James gave the cheapest quote I could find for myself and my daughter when she was a teenager.
As always, you'll have to shop around and get the best price you can on the day. We haven't ever had to contact them apart from renewals so can't comment on their service etc. Hopefully we'll not need it!

Judging by the previous comments they would insure you for between £400 and £850. You might want to shop around.

Many thanks. I was insured with my Mini with Adrian Flux, and the policy was around £800 if I remember.

Does anyone know why most classic insurance co,do this no claims bonus clause,it's the same with Motor caravan insurance as well,Not all but most do.Can't see why they should, surely no claim on a classic is the same as no claim on a modern, just can't see any point in it.

I have no idea but I can say that each year (so far) we've been with FJ the premium has come down, as my daughter has got older and we've not made a claim , so plainly they do assess the risk each year and take such things into account. They have remained competitive for us with a young driver on the policy. Each case is different and everyone's quote will differ too I suppose.

Most classic car policies wouldn't quote at all when I mentioned the words "young driver".

I've just completed this exercise for myself and my 17 year old daughter, FJ couldn't come close to the first six quotes on comparethemarket.com

Was that for a Minor or a modern?

FJ were pretty good for my wife's 1997 MX5, and as said above it has dropped quite a bit this year (from £300 last to £200 this)

I'm looking to deviate from FJ I think.
I've used them for the past three years, never had any convictions, Minor is kept in a garage etc. The policy has barely gone down £20 in three years (started at 17, now 20), I do not believe I'm seeing the value for money that others are seeing.

I don't know if it is still the same but it used to not be until 25 when most of the other companies would cover you for classic cars, I went a bit mad and bought an XJS V12 when I was 25!

That was for a Minor and a learner 17 year old, just myself and my wife were only £69 fully comp with £100 excess, FJ are at least £5 dearer, not a lot I know but still more expensive.

I have nothing against FJ, I have never used them before but Club insurance is one of those things that you shouldn't believe you are getting the best price just because the club has a deal with the broker or insurance company, it always pays to shop around.

I also like the FJ sales pitch on the MMOC page proudly telling everyone that they will cover: Young enthusiasts from age 17 (holding a full UK license for at least a year).

How can they hold a full UK licence for a year if they are still only 17

I have been with FJ since I bought my Morris van four years ago . I renewed and paid for my insurance nearly a month ago and it starts today , when I looked on the askmid website it comes up as uninsured . I have just rung them and they cannot sort it out till Monday . I went out in it today and could have been pulled up for not being insured :x

I took Roy's (bmcecosse) advice and took out a policy with RH Insurance yesterday. £110 for our Traveller, inclusive of breakdown, legal and (apparently) Class 1 business use too. Not that the car would ever grace the car park of the local sewage works!*edit* Slight thread hijack, looking at the OP!!
