A great show - only managed couple of hours on Sunday afternoon due to various children duties but thought there was an excellent turn out and good atmosphere. Even managed to pick up an excellent pair of second hand desmo mirrors for a good price.

Usually tell a converted van by signs of a front spare wheel bkt. being fitted.

Les, I remember your pick up having a Tonneau cover,the type that goes over the spare wheel. Saw a couple pf pick ups at the National with the same cover. Didn't look a great fit at the cab panel end. Seem to remember your pick up having a piece of wood or something,on the back of the cab that secured the cover much better. Do you know if these are available from suppliers? Even better do you have a pic ?

Hi Eddie, my cover has not got provision for the spare wheel, it is simply a flat cover with no 'hump'. The wooden capings I had to make. They In effect sandwich the canvas between two pieces of timber shaped to the rear cab profile. The bottom piece is bolted through the cab back with 1/4inch screws, I think 5 in total. The top piece is then screwed to the bottom, via clearance holes, with wood screws. Where the screws pass through the canvas I used eyelets to prevent tearing and countersunk the timber to accommodate the raised area around the eyelet. Both pieces of timber have rubber between them and the cab, in fact I used the gasket that goes under the pickup roof timber, this also has a nice formed 'bead' to help seal from water. I'll get a couple of photos for you shortly.
