Well the Minor 1000 (1956-on) 948cc model still only had
overriders on the de-luxe, and the 4 door and the Traveller
only had STAINLESS window frames on the de-luxe. You car
was probably supplied as a CKD ( completely Knocked down)
kit and could have any number of fittings which were peculiar
to New Zealand. If it was a CKD car then you will have a
plate which tells you where it was assembled...you can do
your research from there.

My car (FAH55509077) translates to:
Morris Minor
Four Door
CKD Finish
RHD CKD
Primer
509077
I think it works out to about March 57 in UK but was registered here in December.

(pre the '58 change to D for deluxe Cam)
It certainly has overriders, in fact I don't know that any NZ MMs were without them from the change to full screen and the 1000 motor.
What other differences should there be for the '57 4drs. Like you say Willie NZ most likely had our own specs but I wanted to figure wether we were deluxe, standard, or some compromise in between!
Oh and it has an ashtry!

Lengthways!

I reckon the only way you will find out is to have a look at
the sales brochures for the NZ cars to see if they listed
'ordinary' and de luxe models or not, or find someone who
actually ordered one.

Wuhoo a question I can answer - I have a 1967 2 door deluxe and its got an ashtray in the back, I do belive it is held down by 4 flat head screws, I agree with tuning72 to not smoke in the back, thats why I have a strict rule in my car that non of my friends smoke in the back *being a non smoker myself* possibley even no smoking at all jus to [Don't swear or you will be banned - Admin] my mum off

Excellent - well I'm attempting to give it up but the ashtray was really a visual comodity!
