I would recommend putting primer on that as you go otherwise you will have surface rust that will play havoc with the paint and you will have to do it all again. Generally with typical UK humidity you should try and paint the surface within an hour of stripping. The surface oxidisation is usually not visible for a few days unless it gets wet, but it will be enough to cause microblisters in your new paint some months down the line.

Not to sound to depressing, but primer is also slightly porous and needs to be top coated as soon as possible. It can go for a few months in a dry garage or workshop, but will not last so long if sitting outdoors or in damp or humid conditions.

Tomorrow i'm going over the car with an orbital sander to remove the poly wheel scratches and the primer is going straight on.
But i didn't know about the one hour window so it's always good to know.

With the weather clouding my days off I was limited to working inside, so I tackled a few of the smaller parts.
I cleaned up the carb and the distributor and called it a day before overdosing on WD40...

Suspension is almost completely out except for the lief springs due to lack of access to a bolt.

You really should get some primer on that bare metal ,sand it first or it will be rusty again

I have sanded and primed already. Just needed to aply a rust treatment to a couple of areas but now it's rust free.

Passenger side sill needs a bit of work behind the front wheel and the jacking point needs replacing.
I'm a perfectionist so I might go all out to assure structural integrity and replace a few bits.
